Mariwasa and two (2) other SCG subsidiaries in PH awarded with Green Choice Seal of Approval

MANILA, Philippines –Three of ASEAN conglomerate SCG’s local subsidiaries – Mariwasa Siam Ceramics, Inc. (MSC), United Pulp and Paper Co. and SCG Marketing Philippines, Inc. – were awarded with the Green Choice Philippines Seal of Approval during the Suppliers’ Forum on Green Public Procurement recently held at the SMX Convention Center, attesting to the Group’s commitment of conducting business alongside conserving the environment and creating value for society.

The Green Choice seal is awarded to products that are certified to be environment-friendly, with the objective of raising consumer consciousness on the environmental features of products they choose to buy and use. Among the products awarded with this quality mark is Mariwasa Siam Ceramics’ wall and floor ceramic tiles; UPPC’s test liner board, which is made from 100% recycled paper used in the manufacture of boxes and other packaging materials; and SCG Marketing’s fiber board, which is an asbestos-free cement board, reinforced by high-quality cellulose natural fibers used for various purposes in construction.

These products are compliant to the Green Choice requirements on environment and product quality performance, including adherence to environmental regulations, green procurement policies, health and safety standards, energy efficient processes, and waste and pollution-reducing practices, among others.

M-38 Truck 1/4 Ton 4×4

The M38 Jeep was the first post-WW II jeep, based on the civilian model CJ-3A, but upgraded for military use. It was known by Willys as the model MC. It featured flat fenders, a one-piece windshield, bottom-mounted wipers, a fuel filler on the left side near the driver’s seat, protruding headlights, and an air vent at the bottom center of the windshield frame. The pioneer tools (axe and shovel) are located on the passenger side. The 80-inch wheelbase M38 weighed 2,750 pounds. Its nomenclature is Truck 1/4 Ton 4×4, M-38 (G-740).
When compared to the World War II Willys MB / Ford GPW, the M38 is a little larger, with better seating for the driver and passenger, and uses larger tires (7:00×16). It shares a 24 volt waterproofed electrical system with other post-war M-series vehicles, requiring a second battery to boost the voltage. The L-head, 4 cyl. 60 hp. engine of the MB was improved with a gear drive camshaft and was mated to a T90 transmission and 5:38 axle gears.
Willys produced about 45,500 of the M-38 jeeps from September 1950 through July 1952.
my restoration:
i bought the jeep from an old man who is planning to restore this jeep he had this for years but unfortunately he is too busy and getting older to do the restoration, so he decided to sell the jeep instead, a friend of mine told me that it was for sale, i payed the old man 100 thousand for the junked jeep body and it comes with the original not running condition engine we restored the jeep for two months and it runs very good all parts were taken from different places from local to abroad, and i also restored an m100 trailer that is being pulled by the jeep until now i still order some parts through internet to complete some few details of the jeep, restoring this kind of vehicle is not an easy thing to do it takes time, skills, patience, details, and most of all the budget to get the job done
