SPOOKY FUN IN MANILA OCEAN PARK’S 2ND HALLOWEEN COSTUME CONTEST

 

Last October 27, more than 300 participants dressed up in their best costumes for the 2nd Halloween Costume Contest held at Manila Ocean Park. Children together with their families and relatives, adults with their group of friends shared a wonderful afternoon filled with fun and games. Upon registration, contestants received pumpkin pail with goodies and had a trick or treat activity at the park’s mall area. Freebies were given away as contestants get ready for the costume presentation with the judges. Category A consisted of children age 1 to 12 years old paraded different fashion statements featuring popular cartoon characters, superheroes and unique costumes. Meanwhile category B age 13 and above, competed mostly in various horrific costumes based on legendary creatures and horror films complete with props, real insects and rodents. Park guests were entertained as contestants acted out their choiced character, behaving like scary ghosts and cute animals.

Category A winners are the following: Grand Prize & Best Mystical Costume (Avatar) Liezle Riesgo, 1st Prize (Tikbalang) Mark Gabisan, 2nd prize & Cutest Costume (9 movie)Leandro Asiodche, Scariest Costume (Umbilical) Crystal Sheynne Decena.

Category B winners include: Grand Prize and Scariest Costume (Agnas) Jayson Jularbal, 1st prize (Diablo) Lyalin rox king Garbin, 2nd prize (Unicorn) Rolly Feleciano, Cutest costume (Alien) Armando Dinglao and Best Mystical Costume (Picture frame) Myca Santiago.

Both categories received these prizes: Halloween Costume of the Year – P5,000 cash and 4 Ultimate Experience Tickets and overnight stay at Hotel H2o and gift certificate at Makan Makan Asian Food Village, 1st prize – P3,000 cash and 4 Marine Life encounter tickets and gift certificate at Makan Makan Asian Food Village, Halloween Costume 2nd prize – P2,000 cash and 4 Penguin Delight A ticket worth P2,800. Special Award winners received P1,000 cash and attraction tickets to Manila Ocean Park.

It was indeed a highly-successful event for everyone who attended the festivities. Aside from the contest, another Halloween feature of Manila Ocean Park is the Asian Ghost House, the first horror attraction located in the park underground, with its own horrifying characters and creepy elements creating a buzz in the metro.
